Robin Dale-Thomas
In 1990, I completed an MA in Ceramics at Goldsmiths, followed by a short period at the Dartington Pottery before travelling to Japan. There, I immersed myself in Japanese culture, working with various potters and studying calligraphy under Shingai Tanaka. I later collaborated with him on a joint exhibition, Calligraphy & Ceramics, at the Daiwa Foundation in London.
In 2001, I moved with my young family to the Preseli Hills in Pembrokeshire, where we raised three children while converting an old farmyard into a family home, holiday cottages, and a pottery studio.
My works are a wide mix of perfectly thrown stylized forms to vigorously off-centre. He makes glazes mixed with local clay & wood ash, and fires in the self-built gas kiln with reduction firing up to 1300 degrees. Please visit my website for more details.
