Angela James

I am a Fine Art graduate of Carmarthen School of Art, who diverged into ceramics. My interest lies in the transformation of organic & man-made materials: the processes of erosion, decay, rusting, breaking, layering, unearthing, fading & stripping away tell a story of our history and our relationship with the material world. I tend to work with low-firing clays, slips and dry glazes as these best express my purpose.

These sculptural vessels express my feelings about ageing and about being an artist: they are precarious, vulnerable, a bit flaky and serve no useful purpose  - but they're still standing.
