I throw both on a traditional kick wheel and an electric wheel, using porcelain cut and layered and which has been coloured with stains and oxides: the work is first biscuit fired and then fired to 1250 in an electric kiln, and glazed on the inside. The outside is polished to a very smooth finish. My work had responded to the seascape of merging sea, shore and sky where I used to live. Whilst abstract during construction the resulting work created a visual concept of coast.
