In this online demonstration the artist Ailsa Brown will share how she uses surface decoration to transform her ceramic vessels and wheel thrown pottery with colourful expressive designs. Her inspiration comes from the forest and coastal landscapes in her home province of British Columbia in Canada.

Her ceramic surfaces are embellished with a painted surface creating a symphony of colour and form. This is achieved using underglaze stains and slips along with clear and coloured glazes, often with a finishing touch of gold lustre or gilding.
