Our History

South Wales Potters (SWP) is a welcoming and dynamic community, connecting over 350 ceramic lovers across South, Mid, and West Wales, and further afield. Founded in 1964, we embrace potters of all levels—from students to experienced makers—and celebrate the art through collaboration and the recognition of outstanding contributions.

Any myth that potters could have secret processes was dismissed and sharing of information, reasons, intentions and glazes became the norm
