The SWP Web site
- More than 2,000 people look at our site each month.
- When we ask galleries to host an exhibition, some want to look at the work on our Web site.
- It has become a significant part of our public image.
It is clear that our site is becoming more important to us.
We started this site 1991, with just a few pages, and now it’s grown to over 90. So we (the committee!), have decided to give it a “make-over”.
We aim to give the site a more consistent look throughout. This is where you come in. At the moment, some people have a full page with several photos and a write-up. Some people just have a single photo, and perhaps a phone number.
Our “master plan” is that each member’s page should have 5 decent sized photos, plus a write-up of about 200 words.
NEW POLICY FOR SWP MEMBERS’ PAGES
The cost of a new page, or an update, has been reduced to £10, plus an annual fee of £5 per year.
People who already have a page will not have to pay the annual fee until April 2010, (it’s now April 2009) so they have plenty of notice, which we feel is very reasonable.
From April 2010, all pages will need an artist’s statement and 5 photos.
To help in our “master plan”, we would appreciate it if members with just one photo on their web page could update it in line with the new pattern as soon as possible.
We really believe that this, as well as other things we are doing, will help to make the site reflect the high quality of work done by our members.
