I make ceramic sculptures. My work is influenced by personal interests in the human, the animal, and the mythological. My work is generally small in scale.

I work with paper clay, often adding wet clay over dry to encourage cracking. I like my work to appear timeless, so that it has features both associated with the contemporary but also with the aged relic.

I often use cracking slips, dipped or brushed with oxide to give an aged appearance. I also use coloured slips, and even gold lustre in some work.

I make references to established ceramic traditions, such as Staffordshire pottery. I am also very intrigued by ancient figurative pottery, and particularly like Etruscan ceramics. I find them suffused with gentle humour, and hope this influence is detectable in my work.
